Refacing or repainting cabinets, new counters and backsplash, lighting, hardware.
Kitchen renovations in Calgary, planned around how you actually cook.
Kitchen renovations in Calgary that start with the layout, not the finishes — because a beautiful kitchen you have to walk around is still the wrong kitchen.
One team, accountable for your whole kitchen renovation.
A kitchen renovation puts the busiest room in your house out of commission for weeks — we won't pretend otherwise. What we bring is more than a decade of kitchen renovations in Calgary, one project lead who answers for everything, and licensed trade partners who've worked to our standards for close to a decade.
Suite Home Renovations is a boutique company run by its founders, Chris Calon and Kurtis Frederick. When we take on your kitchen renovation in Calgary, one project lead plans the work, schedules it, and answers for it — from the first walkthrough to the final one. The work itself is done with a trusted network of long-term licensed trade partners, many of whom have been part of our projects for close to a decade.
Because we manage every trade directly, you never referee between a cabinetmaker, a plumber, and an electrician — that's our job. If something isn't right, you call us, and we coordinate the right trade to return and make it right. That's what boutique means in practice: not fancier — more accountable.
What's included in our kitchen remodels in Calgary.
Every kitchen is different, but this covers most of the projects we take on — whether you'd call yours a kitchen remodel or a full renovation. If what you need isn't listed, ask; the answer is usually yes.
Layout changes & wall removals
Opening a closed kitchen to the dining room, moving doorways, removing load-bearing walls with proper engineering and permits.
Custom cabinetry & millwork
Semi-custom and fully custom cabinets, pantries, and built-ins. Cabinetry is usually the biggest single line in the budget — we'll tell you where it's worth it and where it isn't.
Countertops & backsplashes
Quartz, granite, butcher block; full-height backsplashes where the design calls for them.
Plumbing & gas relocation
Moving sinks, adding pot fillers, relocating gas ranges — delivered through our licensed trade partners.
Electrical & lighting design
Under-cabinet lighting, pot lights, dedicated circuits, and panel work where needed.
Flooring, painting & finishing
Hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, and tile tied into the adjoining rooms properly — then the last five percent of finishing that makes the other ninety-five feel done.
Plumbing, gas, and electrical are delivered through our long-term licensed trade partners, working under our management and to our standards. We schedule them, we check their work, and we answer for it.
How much do kitchen renovations in Calgary cost?
Most full kitchen renovations in Calgary land between $45,000 and $75,000. The number moves mainly with three things: layout changes, cabinetry grade, and appliances. These are typical Calgary market ranges, not quotes — your fixed written quote comes after an in-home consultation, and it's the number we work to keep.
Tell us your budget comfort and we'll tell you honestly what it buys. If your budget sits below these ranges, tell us anyway — we'd rather help you scope a sensible first phase than waste your time.
New semi-custom cabinets, quartz counters, flooring, appliances, minor layout tweaks.
Full gut, layout redesign, structural changes, custom millwork, premium appliances.

How long does a kitchen renovation take?
Most full kitchen renovations in Calgary take six to nine weeks on site, once demolition starts. The honest number to plan around is longer: add four to eight weeks before construction for design, selections, and ordering — cabinets are almost always the longest lead time.
What keeps a project on schedule is boring discipline: materials confirmed before demolition, trades booked in sequence, and one project lead watching the schedule every day. Nothing good happens when a renovation starts before the cabinets are confirmed.

Our kitchen renovation process.
Every kitchen renovation follows the same mapped-out path — built around The Suite Guarantee.
Start with the project quiz
Tell us about your kitchen, what's driving the renovation, and your budget comfort. It takes a few minutes, and it's how we make sure we're a good fit before anyone commits.
In-home consultation
We walk the space with you, talk through what's possible — and what we'd honestly skip — and take the measurements we need to scope the project properly.
Design, selections & a fixed scope
Layout, cabinetry, counters, and finishes get decided before construction, priced in a detailed written quote. We work hard to anticipate costs before the build begins.
The build
One project lead runs the schedule, our trade partners do what they've done on our projects for years, and the site is tidied at the end of each day. You'll always know what's next.
Walkthrough & The Suite Guarantee
At the end, we walk every detail with you. If something isn't right — during the project or after we've left — you call us and we make it right. That's The Suite Guarantee.
Recent Calgary kitchen renovations.
Photos show you the finishes. The stories tell you how the project actually went.

Mission — Kitchen & Ensuite
A closed galley that fought a family who loved to entertain. We opened the wall, built a custom island with seating for four, and finished with quartz and a full-height backsplash — and renovated the primary ensuite in the same project, under one project lead.

Community Kitchen
A main-floor community space with a kitchen untouched since the building went up. We removed the wall to the bar area, installed a commercial-grade three-bowl sink, replaced the ceiling, upgraded ventilation and electrical — and handed it back two weeks ahead of a sub-month deadline.

Dover — Kitchen Renovation
A dated Dover kitchen kept its exact layout and came out a completely new room — white shaker cabinets with black hardware, white quartz counters, fresh lighting, and a coordinated stainless appliance set. A clean example of how much a finishes-and-lighting refresh changes without moving a wall.
Chris was able to transform our rough hand sketches into a beautiful reality.
Small kitchens, big layout changes — we renovate both.
The same treatment as large ones
Galley kitchens in infills, condo kitchens downtown, bungalows where the kitchen was clearly an afterthought — all get a project lead, a fixed written scope, and trades who show up when scheduled. A smaller room often rewards the renovation more, because every improvement is in front of you every day.
When the layout itself is the problem
Islands where there wasn't room before, closed kitchens opened to the living space, load-bearing walls removed — with engineered drawings arranged, permits handled, and the structural work executed by our licensed trade partners under one project lead. One team, accountable for the whole thing.
Living in your home during the renovation.
For most kitchen projects you can stay home, and most of our clients do. Here's exactly what we set up before demolition starts.
It's still a renovation — there will be dust and noise some days. But you shouldn't have to live in a job site.
Dust barriers
The work zone sealed off from the rest of your home.
Floor protection
Laid along every path our trades walk.
A temporary kitchen
Fridge, microwave, and coffee maker set up somewhere livable.
Planned water & power
Interruptions scheduled and communicated in advance — never at dinner time.
Tidy at the end of each day
The site cleaned up before we leave — a line from our Google reviews we work to keep earning.
Do I need a permit for a kitchen renovation in Calgary?
Sometimes — it depends on what's changing. Like-for-like updates (new cabinets in the same layout, counters, flooring, paint) generally don't need a building permit in Calgary. You do need permits when the work moves plumbing, gas, or electrical, or changes the structure — removing a load-bearing wall requires a building permit with engineered drawings, and trade permits cover the plumbing, gas, and electrical work itself. The City of Calgary's home renovations and basements permit guide is the authoritative reference if you want to check your own project. Practically, you shouldn't have to become a permit expert: during scoping we identify what your renovation requires, arrange engineering where structure is involved, pull the permits, and schedule the inspections. If a contractor tells you a wall removal needs no permit, keep interviewing contractors.
Can you change my kitchen layout or remove a wall?
Yes — layout changes are some of our favourite projects. We arrange the engineered drawings, pull the building permit, and have the structural work done by licensed trade partners we've worked with for years, all under one project lead. Islands, opened galley kitchens, and load-bearing wall removals are all in scope — the Mission kitchen above is a good example of what a layout change makes possible.
Is a kitchen renovation worth it in Calgary?
For most homeowners, yes — with a caveat. Kitchens are consistently among the renovations that hold their value best at resale, and it's the room you use most every day. But "worth it" depends on your plans: if you're selling within the year, a modest refresh usually makes more sense than a full custom renovation. Tell us what you're planning either way — we'll give you our honest read, including when the answer is "do less."
Who will be working in my home?
Our project lead plus a small roster of trade partners we've worked with for years — many for close to a decade. You'll know who's coming and when; we schedule the trades, check the work, and stay accountable for all of it. You're never left managing strangers in your own house.
